Parineeti Chopra was born on born 12 May 1988 in Haryana. Parineeti never intended to become an actress and had planned to become an investment banker. With a triple Honours degree in Business, Finance and Economics from Manchester Business School, Parineeti was set to enter the world of finance.
During the 2009 recession, she returned to India and joined Yash Raj Films as a Public Relations consultant. It was during the promotions of Band Baja Baraat that Parineeti realised she wanted to become an actress. She quit her job and joined an acting school. When Parineeti Chopra told Maneesh Sharma, the director of Band Baaja Baaraat, about quitting the job and joining an acting school, he advised Parineeti to meet the casting director. Parineeti Chopra did some dialogues from Jab We Met just for fun and did not expect Aditya Chopra, Vice President of Yash Raj Films, to view the tape. After watching the tape, Aditya was apparently blown away by her acting skills and signed her for a 3-movie contract.
Parineeti Chopra’s first movie was Ladies VS Ricky Bahl in 2011 where she portrayed the role of a rich spoilt brat from Delhi, Dimple Chadda. Her portrayal earned her critical acclaim. Her next movie was Ishaqzaade in 2012 where she played the role of a happy, hot-tempered only daughter in a Muslim political household. Though Ishaqzaade received mixed response from critics, it did well at the box office.
Parineeti Chopra won the Filmfare award for Best Female Debut in 2012 for her role in Ladies VS Ricky Bahl and was nominated for Best Supporting actress for the same. As of 2013 Parineeti has signed 3 movies. Apart from her work in Bollywood, she also supports various social causes and takes active part in charitable work.
She is funny, bubbly, loud and crazy, keeping up with her Punjabi spirit. Prineeti Chopra is not like the rest of her breed. She doesn’t even make an effort to blend in. She is cool like that. She is always energetic, zealous and fun to hang around with. She is like you and me, she is star who is literally, down to earth.
She has worked with all new comers so far, all the films have done well and more importantly she has always stolen the thunder. She creates a magical and easy chemistry with all her co-stars. She says she was a born drama queen. Her straight forwardness is something that makes her adorable! People might call her brash but hey she is fun! Things have changed 360 degrees for his lady after she became an actress. The most difficult part for her is being politically correct since she says she is the kind of person who finds it hard to say the right kind of things. She once said in an interview that she shamelessly banks on her sisters, Prineeti Chopra
, stardom. How often do we come across someone so to the point? She is compared to Priyanka Chopra so often that now she says she is bored of it. There is a constant battle but she says Priyanka is family and that it doesn’t matter. In her first year in the film industry itself she has managed to win a special mention at the National Awards, something people can’t achieve being here for decades. She is tough and she is one of the best!
We like this Punjabi Khuddi and wish we had more people like her whoo give us a full insight into Bollywood without any editing. She is here to stay and scare the rest. We wish her all the luck!
